Pinecrest Students Expanding Fund Raisers to Community

From The Pilot in Southern Pines:

“Last semester, the Student Environmental Association (SEA) held a ‘Kicks for Kenya’ shoe drive among Pinecrest students, and we received donations totaling up to 200 pairs of gently used shoes,” said SEA President Aayushi Patel. “These shoes were collected for the benefit of impoverished children and adults in Kenya.”

“Our club is now expanding its humanitarian efforts to the local community. The SEA has organized a series of ‘Green Nights’ to be held the first Tuesday of every month at di’lishi Frozen Yogurt Bar from 5 to 7 p.m. The purpose of these events is to collect all types of gently used pairs of shoes to support the SEA’s recycling initiatives, while also raising awareness of current environmental issues.”
